EVERY TIME I GIVE A STEP THE WORLD GETS OUT OF PLACE

Workshop with choreographer Marcela Levi

Departing from structured physical training by Polish theater director Jerzy Grotowski we will work on issues related to the presence of the performer through some assumptions: The decrease in the lapse of time between the momentum generated by the imagination and the result in action, the practice of a body that acts in relation.

The work takes place in a collective way, ie, everybody inhabit the space simultaneously, through a score of actions: walking, running, jumping exercises, strength, balance and stretching, putting into play the following question: How to be the act and not its agent?

Duration of the workshop: 3h/day (two days minimum).
Suggested audience: dancers, actors, performers, visual artists, musicians and students.
Suggested number of participants for each workshop : 10-15 people.
Technical requirements: a room with a wooden dance floor of at least 10x10m, an active sound speaker with mp3 input.

BUMPING

Workshop with choreographers Marcela Levi & Lucía Russo

We have more and more difficulty to reach places with pre-defined proposals. We decided not to do that anymore (at least for now). We propose this workshop to be a "bumping" where the experience shocks us. Let's start the conversation with two pretexts:

1 - About the invention of a body: Thinking the body as a polyphony, something that is both subject and object, that acts and is acted, who speaks and is spoken. A body that escapes the integrity, coherence, unity and embraces the deviation, the slit, the gagging, the holes. In the attempt to say that interests us performatively to build a body that hears voices, or rather, a body that hears itself as another.

2 - About the invention of a coexistence: We propose thinking the coexistence instigated by Maurice Blanchot when he says that the conversation takes place in the white space, in the silence, between one speaking and another. We are interested in forging a coexistence embracing the separation, the abyss, the disagreement, the disjunction. Sometimes we read this and we think of nihilism, but no! The disagreement is friction, friction produces fire, fire heats and is vital!

This is our invitation. Come, lets put the hands and the feet in it?

Duration of the workshop: 3h/day (two days minimum).
Suggested audience: dancers, actors, performers, visual artists, musicians and students.
Maximum number of participants for each workshop: 30 people.
Technical requirements: a room with a wooden dance floor of at least 10x10m , an active sound speaker with mp3 input .
